Dribbble: Take a sneak peek into a designer’s mind
By Joe Svetlik

The Dribbble website is a well of inspiration for aspiring designers

If you want the scoop on the latest product designs, apps, and digital innovations before they’ve even launched, Dribbble is where it’s at. It’s a site for creatives of all kinds to share snippets (named ‘shots’) of what they’re currently working on, to test the waters and gauge feedback. It’s been referred to as Twitter for creatives, allowing innovators to follow others and see what their next big thing is going to be. And the whole site uses basketball lingo, hence dribble is nothing to do with saliva. (Though there is plenty to drool over once you’re there.)

Shots are just small screenshots (no bigger than 400×300 pixels), providing a taster of a work in progress; they’re like the equivalent of tweets. Creatives are then ‘drafted’ (i.e. invited) to join the site by existing members, ensuring the standard is kept high and only the very cream of the design crop are featured. But don’t worry if you just enjoy seeing what’s new, anyone can sign up as a spectator, allowing you to see the products of the best creative thinkers in the world, save your favourites, and put yourself forward for consideration to become a fully fledged member, should you have designs on becoming a designer.
